Most of us are always on-the-go. Whether you are a college student, entrepreneur or young professional, it happens to ALL of us! Finding something on your way to work can either be unhealthy, too expensive or not even meet your dietary restrictions (especially as a vegan!). As college students, we can remember always looking for the quickest remedy to satisfy that hunger, so that we could continue studying long hours in the library. You can probably already guess that what we consumed was unhealthy and dragged our energy down, which then prompted us to source coffee ASAP! If only we knew about this amazing brand called JECA Energy Bars, life as a college student would be so much easier. But, we are very grateful to incorporate these revitalizing bars NOW as a young professional and dental student. Let’s share some of our favorite ways to enjoy them:
From matcha + seeds to almond + dates or even coconut + curry, each energy bar is packed with essential nutrients that are great to kick-start your day or as a snack during a long day or study session. Our favorite part of JECA bars is that they are only made from whole natural ingredients. When you flip the package around, you’ll be able to identify each ingredient without having to go through your chemistry book to find out what some of them are! We rely on our JECA bars to munch on as we work on the blog in between photoshoots and recipe testing – yum, yum, yum!
2. JECA Parfait
Even in our dorm rooms, we had some useful portable kitchen appliances that were under 15$. One of the ones that we used the most was our blender/food processor. To take your breakfast to the next level, process your JECA bar flavor of your choice in the blender and sprinkle on top of some vegan coconut yogurt and fresh berries! Sounds like a perfectly balanced breakfast or snack to sustain energy and assure that you are getting every single nutrient that you need to function! If you have a mini-fridge in your dorm, definitely keep some pure maple syrup to make it extra yummy – can’t live without it (maybe that’s the Canadian in me 😉 ).
3. Berry JECA Raw Cakes
Now, if you have a little extra time on your hands, we recommend making our Berry JECA Raw Cakes. Great Summer breakfast or snack – especially on those scorching hot days! Keep them fresh in the freezer and pop them out a few minutes before eating. They are super easy to make, especially since we used JECA bars to create a beautiful crust. The Berry JECA Raw Cakes called for blackberries, but you can certainly use whatever berry or other fruit you love! We’re thinking about making a mango layer soon! Using the freezer and the fridge is key to making sure that you are staying healthy and not sacrificing your nutrition and health for convenience.

Berry JECA Raw Cakes
- 3 JECA Energy Bars
- 2 tbs of coconut oil
- 1/2 cup of cashews soaked overnight
- 1/4 cup of blackberries
- 1/4 cup of raspberries
- 2 tbs of maple syrup
- 2 tbs of vegan yogurt
- 4 tbs of water
- 1 tsp of pure vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
- 2 tbs dark vegan chocolate melted, optional
- Line your cupcake molds with parchment paper
- In a food processor, add your melted coconut oil and JECA bars. Process well.
- With 1-inch scoops, place them in the cupcake molds and firmly press down to compact the JECA bars into a crust.
- In a blender, add all your ingredients needed for the berry layer and blend until smooth.
- Pour the berry layer in the cupcake molds to top them off.
- Freeze for 2 hours or overnight.
- Optional: Drizzle some melted dark vegan chocolate around the edges!
